Here are some great tips on reducing your air conditioners consumption level and therefore reducing your bill.
- No
matter how hot your get, try not to keep your thermostat any lower than
78 degrees. Turning it down any lower than this is surely going to
raise your bill considerably. Remember, it always cheaper to dress in
lighter clothing than it is to run your air conditioner at unnecessary
temperatures.
- People seem to think that when they walk
into a warm room, the fastest way to get the room cool is to turn the
air conditioner on at the coldest possible setting. This is false!
Running your air conditioner at a low level does nothing but waste
money and energy.
- Clean and/or replace your air filters on a monthly basis.
- Do
not place heat generating appliances like televisions, computers or
lamps anywhere near your thermostat. Your thermostat will get fooled
into thinking it's hotter in your room than it actually is, causing
your air conditioner to run longer and work harder than necessary
