Helpful Tips On Saving Energy and Money
- No matter how hot you get, try not to keep your thermostat any lower than 78 degrees. Turning it down any lower than this is surely going to raise your bill considerably. Remember, it's always cheaper to dress in lighter clothing than it is to run your air conditioner at unnecessary temperatures.
- People seem to think that when they walk into a warm room, the fastest way to get the room cool is to turn the air conditioner on at the coldest possible setting. This is false! Running your air conditioner at a low level does nothing but waste money and energy.
- Clean and/or replace your air filters on a monthly basis.
- Do not place heat generating appliances like televisions, computers or lamps anywhere near your thermostat. Your thermostat will get fooled into thinking it's hotter in your room than it actually is, causing your air conditioner to run longer and work harder than necessary.
All manufacturer warranties are null and void if the consumer purchases equipment over the internet, including purchases from web-based auctions, telephone or other electronic means, unless the seller of the equipment is also the installing contractor/dealer.
Rebates are great when they are treated as legitimate rebates and the installing contractor/dealer does not add the rebate onto the price of the unit. Rebate programs vary. We are happy to inform you of and help you secure whatever manufacturer, utility provider or government rebate programs that are currently available.
